History of Our Club
The Walnut High School Speech and Debate Team was founded in the year 2000. In the previous years, the club had
only participated in Rotary and Key Club events, and had not competed in the league. Three courageous members decided
to compete in the first SCDL tournament of the year, and were hooked from then on. Soon after, thirteen members started
up the charter in Walnut High School, making the WHS Speech Team now apart of the Southern California Forensics family of
competitive schools.
The team is now running its fourth year, with brand new 11th grade officers in the lead. The senior founders have
left their club in these new hands, and gone off to college. The officers hope to make this year as memorable the years
previous!

Our Charter
Some organizations have a formal charter; many do not. If our organization has a written charter, we'll include it here. If
not, we'll use this area to discuss the reasons our club exists and what our goals are.
